Comments on different Blogs

I had a great time looking at different educator's blogs and getting ideas from them. Three blogs that I commented on are:

Pinterest

I have been addicted to Pinterest for some time! Before I became a teacher I used it to help me with new ideas for recipes and home decorating tips. Once I found out I would be teaching third grade I immediately began looking for links! Throughout my first year of teaching I got so many wonderful ideas from pinterest. It was especially great for Science. I loved being able to add an extra component to my lesson using the ideas from pinterest. There are so many wonderful teachers out there and fortunately so many of those teachers have blogs. If my students were struggling with a concept I was able to search online using pinterest to find another way to present the lesson.

Google Documents

Another great resource is Google Documents. It is an awesome way to share documents with other teachers and even for upper grades to share with your students.

I love that Google Documents is really easy to use!

Delicious.com- Social Media

As part of my assignments I made an account with delicious.com. At first I was hesitant, but soon I realized it was a great site! I always come across different blogs and links that I love. My bookmark page has gotten quite long. This is a great way to cut down on my bookmark list and instead have all the pages and blogs I like in one place! I look forward to adding more links in the future.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! I am new to teaching and blogging! Next year will be my second year in third-grade! It has definitively been an adventure. Each day I feel like I learn something new. I hope that this blog will help me share ideas with others and also gain ideas from other fellow teachers. I have seen some amazing blogs out there!

Teaching is wonderfully rewarding. The children's natural curiosity and love for learning makes teaching so fulfilling. There can be hard days though... My first year oftentimes felt like a roller coaster. On those hard days though I always watched this video to bring me back to the point of why I teach. It is truly inspirational.

I hope you all liked the video! It really helped me throughout my first year of teaching.
